Location and views
Quartz lies on the small road that runs through our hamlet, separate from the main house (although only 4m away) and from one side looks over that road, from another has a view of the working well that dates back many centuries, and a third view is directly over the Frescobaldi Nipozzano Estate vineyards.
Bedroom
Quartz is a large room plus a bathroom below. The double loft bed is accessed via a ladder, and lies under the eaves, with plenty of room to sit up. In the room below, a sofa/daybed can double as a single bed and so +there is plenty of sitting space. There is ample hanging space plus shelving. and a spiral staircase leads to a bathroom with shower, loo and sink.
Bedroom approximately 18m2
Bathroom
The bathroom, accessed by a spiral staircase, has a sink, loo and shower, plus shelving for your stuff.
Bathroom approximately 3.5m2
Heating/cooling and protection
Quartz has a wood burner, traditional heating, and we also provide fans. There are mosquito nets on two of the four windows, and there is also a smoke alarm.
Cool things to know
Our home lies on the old road that went from Florence to Rome (the road that Saint Francis took), and our property was originally a staging post. Rose Quartz would originally have been the "shed" where the farrier made new shoes for the horses. Behind Rose Quartz there is a small garden with a fabulous view over the vineyards.
Of course anyone who stays here also has access to the main house, garden and pool.
Pros & cons
In a separate building on the other side of the [very narrow] road
A bed up a ladder in the sky and a bathroom down a spiral staircase
A day bed that does very well as a single bed for another person
