Grapes

We have a sloping vineyard of 12 rows, and approximately 350 vines, mostly San Giovese, but with some Malvasia and Canaiolo plants too. This currently produces us about 500 litres of robust red wine per year.

It's very hard work, but it is definitely worth it.

Where our vineyard ends the Castello di Nipozzano (Frescobaldi) land begins, and they have huge vineyards! It is perfectly possible to go walking in the Frescobaldi vineyards, where you might see pheasants, deer, wild board, hares and other wildlife.

There are of course lots of other vineyards in the area which you can visit.

We harvest anywhere between the beginning of September and the end of October, very much dependent on the weather. Guests are welcome of course to join in. It's a long day with normally about 3/4 hours harvesting in the morning, then the pressing and clearing up etc.  But it is a lot of fun!
